Implementation flow
Every project listed on our platform goes through a fully facilitated journey from birth to its completion. As we only fund new projects and teams, we are able to build a solid foundation that leads the project to more successful outcomes and long thriving life.

1.Foundational phase

Project is initiated by a team among World Union  or by project application, that gains support and receives a champion from our network.

In this phase we begin our foundational work:

We start from creating a System Report that reflects the potential impact, viability and understanding the problem and the solution the project aims to achieve. We work closely with the founding team, designing organisational structure, service design and governance system to match project’s requirements. We look at the opportunities to ingrain a financial model and look for long-term prospects of the project to become sustainable and with emphasis on organic growth after completion.

As a result of this stage, we produce a pitch-deck, gathering assumptions and data, supporting the project's case and outlining the project roadmap and milestones, to understand the scope and financial requirements.

2. Sourcing the core team

At this stage the project is listed on our platform as a private project, attracting interest and gathering feedback from potential investors.

Our key distinction from the common way of fundraising is our collaboration platform, that allows anyone to join and participate in the project.

Partners accountable for the project and all the founding team are making steps to introduce the project to the public with a goal to attract talent and contributors from our Partner network and open sources. Each project is offering distinctive roles that are needed to mee project roles, enabling projects to attract not only financial resources but most importantly - highly committed social leaders, that can make a difference and play a significant part in project success.

Attracting both money and expertise from around the world is our key component to success.

Core team structure:

  • One Senior-partner as an accountable person for the whole project.
  • Partners and founding members as responsible.
  • Partners who wish to be informed or share expertise.
  • External contributors - registered users on our platform, joining the project via project invitation.
  • Investors or their representatives, who choose to engage from the early stage of the project and can access the private projects section.

3.Planning

At this stage the project is developing its detailed roadmap, milestones, budget needs, working on MVP design and creating roles for the extended team.

As a result of this stage, It has a fully developed detailed plan of action and funding goals and is ready to be listed in the public section of projects, available for all investors and funds on our platform.

We support the design of capabilities and services, connecting the project to our network of projects and aligning it to our mission and vision.

4.MVP

Every project needs to produce a Minimum Viable Product before the investment stage begins to flow into the project. Minimum viable product demonstrates project ability to deliver and cohesion of the core team.

In certain circumstances, MVP could be funded by early investors or World Union Foundation

4.Crowdsourcing and People-sourcing

Once a project has formed its core team and budget, the project can attract the pull of talented social activists and experts, who are joining the project through marketing campaigns and personal invitations.

Partners pitch the project to other Partners and external stakeholders, matching project requirements with expertise.

Paid and volunteering opportunities are made available, with a goal to create a cohesive international team with remote-first design.

As a part of our commitment to transparency, each project must attract at least one independent observer, who is not funded by World Union of the project and will deliver independent reports at the end and throughout the project implementation. Observers can receive benefits based on the success of the project.

5.Startup phase

Startup phase starts from a first governance meeting, where the full team and all interested investors meet and identify a clear intention and goals for the projects. We facilitate these meetings, supporting the creation processes, roles, domains and listen to perspectives of all participants.

During this phase core team sets up:

  • Key roles are being identified and set.
  • The Constitution is created
  • Roadmap and milestones are confirmed.
  • Key assumptions are identified.
  • Governance system has been setup
  • Operational meetings are scheduled and each member area of accountability is documented.

Project is Lock and load for success.

5. Execution

Execution, Execution, Execution © Wisdom of the Great Men

Execution is a process empowered by a well designed yet, flexible evolutionary structure, led by strong intention and commitment to make the world a better place:

  • Governance meetings
  • Operational meetings
  • Regular Updates, available for investors
  • Milestone review and updates
  • Investors days and feedback.
  • Capability building
  • Structuring service
  • Building synergies
  • Creating and sharing knowledge
  • Collecting and storing data
  • Ongoing creation of value for all supporters and the team.

Projects are funded based on the success of each roadmap milestone. Funding can be reduced or stopped by a collective decision of World Union and donors.

6.Learning lab

Every milestone the project conducts mandatory core team gathering, a Learning lab, is a form of AAR After-action review.

Questions are being address:

  • What could be done better
  • What worked well
  • What failed
  • What or who is missing
  • Why despite our best efforts we fail to achieve the intended results.
  • Listening to the system

Learning lab report is available to all investors via our platform.

6. Completion

Once the final milestone has been accomplished, the project is considered to be completed. But it doesn’t mean the end, it’s just the beginning of its long-lasting life and great impact.

Project is transformed to a permanent organisation (becoming a butterfly).

Partners can decide to continue working for the project or create a succession plan for another team member..

We continue monitoring project life through participation in it’s governance meetings.
Project should continue to be monitored by one of our Partners through whole life of the project, while project representatives can participate in General Assembly and Projects Circle governance meetings

We maintain close relationships with the project, continuing our support with our capabilities, additional funding and empowering further growth and contributing to ever more magnificent success and new heights.
Project becomes a part of the World Union network, providing its services and enjoying services of other organisations optimising its resources and resilience.

On this stage a few significant events are celebrating the success:

  • Final Learning lab and report
  • Closing team circle
  • Investors reports and Investors day
  • Data and metrics are processed and released

7. Independent observer report

Each project independent observer delivers his report to the platform. This services an objective overview of the project for investors, confirming the effectiveness, data consistency and other metrics/actions of the project.
Assessment reports are made available to all investors.

8.Aftermath

Social projects

Social projects will distribute impact shares. Impact shares are virtual shares distributed after the project has been successfully completed.
Impact shares are visible on the public profile of each Member/Partner/Investor and are a measure of competency and are considered when accepting them to new projects.
Shares are received based on hours/tasks or other metrics, decided by the team upfront. This is a main currency for volunteers and Partners, a proof of their competency.

Impact Projects

In the case of Impact projects, World Union will create an independent for-value or for-profit company with a share structure, distributing shares to investors according to the contribution and upfront agreed cap table.

9.Funding rounds

Every successful project will be able to raise more funds through new funding rounds facilitated on our platform, with initial investors enjoying the preemption rights to celebrate their commitment and risks.

Summary:

We are taking social and impact projects to a new level, by designing and implementing detailed project journeys to significantly reduce risks and increase chances of success. We empower projects with unmatched expertise, knowledge, tools, structures and capabilities to live and thrive in our uncertain and highly-complex competitive environment. Our main goal is to make social projects accessible for traditional funding, providing a safe investment environment and revolutionising social projects with a power of network.
