Social project in our terms is an initiative or idea that demonstrates addressing social or environmental problems, at the same time capable of generating profit and long-term value. Following our principles and general system, the project must include the ability to sustain itself, grow and scale organically by design.
Primary goal of this document is to structure the initial application for the project or idea and apply for further review.
Each project is offered a structured approach of outlining core ideas, addressing problems and solutions as well as demonstrating understanding and commitment to the cause.
We accept only open-source ideas, licensed under creative commons. Please share only what you feel you can share publicly. Do not include private data, estimates or insights.
If you possess know-how that you feel cannot be released or require legal agreement, please mention it in the description, otherwise all ideas, methods, processes are considered open-source.
When you submit your project application you grant us explicit rights to share this document to Partners and Investors.
You agree that no particular brands are connected or promoted by the project.
Project is a legal contract. When the project is funded, it is legally binding authors to achieve agreed upon impact metrics. Responsibility of each party is agreed for each individual project when the project is approved.
All property, physical or virtual, including but not limited to trademarks, copyrights, domain names or licences, that are not in previous possession and are acquired using project’s funds belong solely to the World Union Foundation organization unless agreed separately in a project contract.
Existing domain name, trademark and copyrights and other power instruments of control will be transferred to the holding company. We can reimburse the costs of the premium domain or other property you have acquired or considered to be of a high-value.
You agree that all documents and information shared with you during the preliminary phase of the project are strictly private and are copyrighted materials that cannot be shared outside the team you included in the project.

1.Story
Tell a story of your personal journey to this project and what are your motivations and cause you care about.
2.Vision
Draw a vision of the world you see by applying your solution.
3. Problem/Solution
Every project should start with a problem/solution statement, where the problem is global and the solution is repeatable. Please limit each statement with a maximum of 3 sentences.
4.Team
Introduce yourself and your team with a short background, related to the project. If you’re a sole-founder, please describe qualities, skills you possess to show your founder-fit.
5. Identify value
Please describe who can benefit from the project. How can we measure it ? What is the ideal outcome and benefit for society?
Qualitative story - tell a story of a value-receiver and how your project impacted his life and the world at large.
6. Sustainability model.
Every project should generate income and create enough value to sustain itself and grow organically without further support.
Please include any ideas or assumptions you have of the ways to generate income directly or indirectly. Make a list of potential stakeholders, collaborations and ongoing sources of support you think can be leveraged to achieve sustainability and long-term viability.
7. Proof of concept plan
Please describe how you can create a small version of your project to test your idea with minimum costs and time.
If you already tested your assumptions, please describe it.
8.Risks and challenges
List potential risks that you might face during implementation. Imagine for a second, that project has failed. Describe your worries and concerns about projects potential flaws. Remember that failure is a part of progress.
9.Supporting circle
Please indicate organisations or people who are supporting you now or will support your efforts in case your project is funded. Please note that supporting organisations cannot be authors or legal parties in a contract, but can join the project at a later stage.

1.Initiation
Once submitted, the project undergoes preliminary systemic analysis. We might contact you in this phase to understand more about the project or make a call to meet and build relationships.
Timeframe: 1-4 weeks
2.Systems report
Systems report is a document, created by World Union in collaboration and agreement with the project team, outlining major systems, expected impacts and major challenges. System report is a foundational document for the project contract and expected metrics.
System reports cannot be shared or used outside of the context of collaboration with World Union.
Timeframe: 2-4 weeks
3.Networking
During this phase, the project is made available for wider circle of World Union Trust network and associates to support to the project.
Timeframe: 2-4 weeks
In total, from the moment of us receiving the document to the moment we initiate the startup phase is between 1.5 - 3 months.
